Marks and Spencer is selling a collection of perfumes that are being likened to high-end designer scents. The retailer, renowned for its quality apparel and accessories, is now capturing attention with its fragrant offerings.
TikToker @the_petite_lady, who boasts over 7,000 followers, showcased several M&S fragrances that evoke the luxury of top-tier brands. In her video caption, she enthused: “Are you ready to smell amazing without breaking the bank? You guys loved my Marks and Spencer [alternative] perfume video last year, so I couldn’t resist popping in to see what they’ve added this year!”
She then went on to compare M&S perfumes with their more expensive counterparts. With a voiceover in the clip, she highlighted some impressive deals: “You guys loved my Marks and Spencer’s [alternative] perfume video last year, so I couldn’t resist popping in to see what they have this year. And along with the classics, they’ve added a few more, so I thought I’d show you my top picks.
“So first up we have Velvet Amber, which is a stunning alternative to Chanel’s No. 5. It’s a total classic and refined scent. Next is Fresh Mandarin, and if you’re a fan of Caroline Herrera’s Good Girl, you’re gonna absolutely love this. It’s a vibrant and fresh scent.
“Next is Warm Neroli, which has Paco Rabanne Lady Million vibes all over it. It’s bold and a statement-making scent. Next is Spiced Bergamont. Great match for Calvin Klein’s Woman,” reports the Mirror.
She added: “Next is Midnight Blossom, which is a great [alternative] for Yves Saint Laurent’s Black Opium. Next is Sea Salt and Neroli, which is similar to Jo Malone’s Wood Sage and Sea Salt; a refreshing coastal scent.
“Next is White Coconut. Now if you love The White Company’s Seychelles, this creamy and comforting fragrance will transport you straight to paradise. It’s one of my favourites. I love it.
“Next is Gardenia and Vanilla, which is a sweet and feminine fragrance just like Marc Jacobs Daisy. And last but not least is Red Berries and Rose, which is my absolute favourite. It’s a fruity, floral, musky scent. As a dead ringer for Giorgio Armani Si.
“I’m a big fan of these fragrances and with them being under £10, they make a great gift for yourself and for others this Christmas.”
The post was a hit with her followers, quickly amassing over 201k views and thousands of likes from TikTok users. Reacting to the video, one user commented: “white coconut and the vanilla are my faves. Just bought the 100ml.”
Another stated: “Velvet Amber an absolute game changer for me. Smells so good. Will try a few others!” A third contributor shared: “I bought most of them! Favourite are red berries and midnight blossom.”
An elated shopper remarked: “I have the White Coconut based on your advice. I love it. I’ve received so many compliments when I wear it. I’m going to try a few more. Thank you. Merry Christmas.”
One content customer enthused: “I have a couple of these ..they smell absolutely lovely truly worth the money.”
Yet, there was mild criticism from another purchaser who remarked: “I have the first 3 and also have them in the original perfumes and they are not [an alternative] sadly.”
Counterbalancing this view, @the_petite_lady chimed in on social media saying: “They are never going to be an exact match but they have the same base scent and I think are great at under £10!”
By choosing Marks & Spencer’s versions, cash-conscious buyers stand to save a bundle. Yves Saint Laurent aficionados might spare themselves in the region of £115, while Jo Malone enthusiasts could pocket a similar £115 savings.
In other news, Boots has slashed the price of a number of fragrances, including Lancôme La Vie Est Belle Iris Absolu Eau de Parfum for £50 (down from £100), Gucci Flora Gorgeous Jasmine For Her Eau de Parfum for £57 (down from £95) and Emporio Armani He Eau de Toilette for £28.50 (down from £57).
