A ‘huge’ box of Christmas presents, meant for children that attend a creche in Co Tyrone, was destroyed by masked men that broke into the premises at the weekend.
Posting to social media, the Woolstore Daycare centre in Caledon explained that they had “a few unwanted visitors” on Sunday night (December 1).
“Just putting this out there for awareness, although I don’t want to scare anyone I just want to remind you all, business or home please remember to keep all locked up and don’t leave valuables accessible,” the caption continues.
“We had everything locked up and unfortunately they still made a way in.
“Thankfully we have a CCTV system in place, but I know this may not be the case for all homes and businesses so please be more careful at this time of the year and let’s not let these thugs get what they want.”

Speaking to Armagh I about the incident further, owner Vicky Robb said: “Thankfully, I don’t keep money on the premises.
“After making a bit of a mess they left again and as far as we can tell, so far, they didn’t take anything. I count us being very lucky.
“The worst thing about it all is that I had a huge box of Christmas gifts for the kids that attend my day care, just under the window, that was destroyed, so I will have to try get them replaced.”
Police confirmed that enquiries are ongoing, and it is understood that the PSNI are linking the break-in with a similar attempted theft, that took place at a car sales premises in Armagh city on the same night.
