Northampton Town manager Jon Brady has resigned from his position with the Cobblers after over four years in charge at Sixfields while Reading boss Ruben Selles is expected to take the managerial vacancy at Championship side Hull City.
Brady’s resignation marks the fifth managerial departure in League One this season with Blackpool, Crawley Town, Burton Albion and Shrewsbury Town also having to make changes.
The Australian was in charge of the Cobblers when they missed out on automatic promotion from League Two to Bristol Rovers in 2022 on goals scored on the final day following the legendary 7-0 victory over Scunthorpe United.
Northampton then missed out on promotion via the play-offs that campaign before making ammends the following season with a third place finish.
The Cobblers currently occupy the final relegation place with 18 points from 18 matches.
Elsewhere, although not yet officially confirmed by the club, various reports have stated that Reading are set to lose their manager Selles to Hull City with the Spaniard taking a step up to Championship level.
The Royals are currently sixth in the third tier and having a good season under Selles amid the seemingly never ending off-field issues.
The former Southampton boss took charge of Reading in summer 2023 with the club having to deal with various points deductions over the course of last season. However, Selles still managed to guide them to safety with a 17th place finish.
Hull sacked German coach Tim Walter last week with the Tigers currently in the Championship relegation zone despite sacking former boss Liam Rosenior at the end of last season for missing out on the play-offs.
