Snooker star Judd Trump is celebrating a £250,000 payday after clinching his second UK Championship title in York.
The world number one secured a hard-fought 10-8 victory over Barry Hawkins, marking his fifth Triple Crown title.
The win has pushed Trump’s earnings for the current season past £1.17 million, putting him within reach of Ronnie O’Sullivan’s record from the previous season.
It marks a triumphant return to the UK Championship trophy for Trump, who had to wait 13 years between his first and second titles in the prestigious tournament.
Judd Trump is pondering whether to celebrate with his girlfriend Maisy Ma after his UK Championship victory
Following his victory, Trump has announced he will skip the Scottish Open in Edinburgh this month.
Instead, the snooker champion is planning to celebrate his success either in Dubai with his brother Jack, who travels with him on tour, or in Hong Kong with his girlfriend.
“There’ll be a celebration somewhere, whether it is Dubai with my brother, Hong Kong with my girlfriend,” Trump said.
“I need to figure out whether I go to Dubai or Hong Kong for a few days, then figure out what I’m going to do for the next month before the Masters,” he added, referring to the tournament which begins on January 12.
Trump’s girlfriend, Maisy Ma, is a 25-year-old Hong Kong figure skater and TV presenter.

Despite their significant social media presence – Ma has nearly 180,000 Instagram followers while Trump boasts over 287,000 – the couple maintain a notably private relationship.
Neither shares photos of each other on their social platforms, preferring to keep their romance away from the public eye.

Ma, who wasn’t competing at the Paris Olympics this summer, took on presenting duties at the games instead.
Their relationship represents part of Trump’s increasing connection to Asia, particularly Hong Kong, where he now spends considerable time.
Trump has recently revealed he no longer considers the UK his permanent base, opting for a lifestyle split between the Middle East and Hong Kong.

“I’m happy travelling around the world, spending as little time in the UK as possible at the moment, because I don’t really enjoy it as much there anymore,” he explained.
The snooker champion emphasised his desire to enjoy life while still young, appreciating the shorter travel times from his new bases.
“My mum misses me – I’m not sure about my dad! At least he gets to watch me on the TV. They will always be at the big events in the UK,” Trump added.
