Radio DJ Melvin Odoom became the fourth celebrity to be voted out of ITV’s I’m A Celebrity… last night (December 3) – but he will be delighted to see a video message waiting for him from none other than his celebrity crush, Carol Vorderman.
The 44-year-old opened up about his soft spot for the former Countdown presenter during his time in the Australian camp, after receiving his luxury item – a pillow with photos of his family members on it, as well as a photo of Carol Vorderman dressed in a tight red leather dress.
Giving context to the item, Melvin even performed a rap about his crush, calling Carol a “10 out of 10”, and finishing: “Check your DMs, girl, I’ll be waiting.”
The surprising revelation prompted Carol, 63, to respond on TikTok and Instagram, with a voice note that was played on I’m A Celebrity…’s spin-off show, Unpacked.
Carol, who has lived in Bristol for a number of years, could be heard chuckling as she said: “Oh, Melvin! I’m blushing redder than that leatherette dress I’m wearing on your pillowcase. I’ll be rooting for you all the way through. See you on the other side… in the two consonants, DM.”
Over on Instagram, she captioned the post: “Well hello Melvin Odoom, or shall I say Melvin Vorderman, or Jungle Man which sounds very much like Vorder Man? I’m having so much fun watching the camp mates having a joke with Melvin in the I’m A Celebrity jungle. So what do you think guys?”
Melvin was voted out of the jungle on Tuesday night’s show, finishing this year’s series in ninth place. And the first post shared on his X (formerly Twitter) account after his exit read: “Carol Vorders, you better be at that bridge, I SWEAR.”
Now that he has returned to civilisation and can catch up on his messages from Carol Vorderman, Melvin will no doubt be thrilled – could there be a date for the pair in the future?
