Four of Northern Ireland’s top utility companies are working together to remind the public how best to prepare homes and businesses for the winter months.
Openreach, NI Water, NIE Networks and Phoenix Energy have launched a campaign to give customers advice on how to prepare for potential interruptions to water, broadband, gas or electricity due to the cold weather.
Garret Kavanagh, director at Openreach in Northern Ireland, said the campaign also highlights the ways customers can contact the utility regulators if they do experience a disruption.
“While we cannot prevent adverse weather conditions, we can do our best to prepare for them,” he said.
“Some steps we recommend include, keeping a torch and batteries to hand, knowing where your water stop valve is and getting your boiler serviced annually.
“Our committed and skilled teams work tirelessly around the clock to ensure our networks can continue to operate smoothly.”
Mr Kavanagh added that in the event of a disruption, engineers will be deployed as soon as it is safe to do so.
To report a fault contact Openreach (08000 23 20 23), Phoenix Energy (0345 455 5555), NI Water (03457 44 00 88) or NIE Networks (03457 643 643).
