Paris Saint-Germain president Nasser Al-Khelaifi has firmly dismissed speculation linking Liverpool forward Mohamed Salah with a move to the French capital.

Speaking to Sky Sports, Al-Khelaifi was unequivocal in his response to the transfer rumours.

“It’s not true. He’s a fantastic and amazing player, but we’ve never considered him, to be honest,” he said.

“We know every club would love to have him, but this rumour about us is simply not true,” the PSG president added, addressing recent reports that suggested talks were already underway with the Egyptian star.

Salah’s future at Liverpool remains uncertain with his current contract set to expire in summer 2025.

The 32-year-old forward has recently expressed frustration over his contract situation at Anfield.

He suggested that Sunday’s victory over Manchester City could be his last meeting with the Citizens at Anfield, amid ongoing uncertainty about his future.

The Egyptian star has indicated he is “more out than in” and expressed disappointment over the lack of progress in contract negotiations.

From January, Salah will be eligible to enter discussions with overseas clubs regarding a potential pre-contract agreement.

Al-Khelaifi’s denial comes as PSG continues to focus on building a younger squad for the future.

“We have one of the youngest teams in Europe, if not the youngest, with an average age of 22.5 years,” the PSG president told Sky Germany.

“We’re building a team for the future with our amazing coach.”

The French champions have undergone significant changes in their attacking lineup, having lost the star-studded trio of Lionel Messi, Neymar and Kylian Mbappe over recent transfer windows.

The club currently features Ousmane Dembele on the right wing, the position Salah typically occupies.

Salah continues to be a vital figure for Liverpool this season, with 13 goals and 11 assists helping the Reds to the top of both the Premier League and Champions League.

The forward’s impressive form has made his contract situation even more pressing for Liverpool.

The club is also in talks with other key players whose contracts expire in 2025, including Virgil van Dijk and Trent Alexander-Arnold.

Despite the uncertainty surrounding his future, Salah remains focused on immediate challenges, with Liverpool’s manager Arne Slot continuing to rely on the Egyptian for their upcoming fixtures.
