A man is in custody while police investigate the death of a woman in Pickering.

Durham Regional Police said Sunday that officers, who received reports of a collision, found a badly injured woman when they arrived in the Foxwood Trail-Weyburn Sq. area shortly after 5 a.m.
The woman was rushed to a Toronto hospital, where she was pronounced dead.
While there was no word on possible charges, a man at the scene was taken into custody.
Homicide detectives, who have taken over the investigation, said there is no threat to public safety
