Black Friday may have been and gone, but many retailers have extended their sales to give shoppers longer to bag a bargain. And if you’re looking to update your wardrobe, or save some money on a Christmas present for a fashionista family member, then you’ll want to take a look at the Joanie website this weekend.

The vintage-inspired clothing brand is offering up to 40% off everything on their website – with some pieces discounted even further. So if you’ve been eyeing something up on their website for a few months, now’s the time to finally hit the checkout button.

One of the dresses that’s hit the sale at a major discount is the Georgia Polka Dot Print Square Neck Dress. Originally £75, it’s now got more than £50 off, costing £22.50, and while it might not be the ideal weather for it at the moment, it’s definitely worth snapping up to bank for your spring wardrobe.

I wore the dress countless times throughout the summer months, and even into early autumn. Coming in a timeless polka-dot print, it’s got a dreamy square neckline and floaty angel sleeves, which are great for disguising the upper arm area.

It’s often difficult to find smart dresses that are both comfortable and practical, but this one has an elasticated back panel for added stretch, and side seam pockets – a feature other shoppers have been loving, too. The tiered skirt falls to a midi length, which makes it ideal for wearing with trainers or heels – though I do prefer a maxi length, and wish Joanie offered hemlines of different lengths to provide a little more choice.

The midi is crafted from a light and breezy Livaeco Viscose textured dobby fabric, which makes it cool to wear in warmer climes. If you’re planning to jet off in search of some winter sun this December, it would be an ideal option for the suitcase.

I’ve loved wearing this dress throughout the summer and have been pondering how to carry it through into the winter, and I do think a chunky knit over the top with a pair of boots would do nicely so I can get even more wear out of it. I’ve also previously enjoyed wearing it with a wool triangle scarf, and this Joanie denim jacket, which is also on sale for £35.40, down from £59.

The dress has nothing but five star reviews on the Joanie website – and everyone has said the exact same thing. The dress has been lauded as ‘flattering’ by several wearers, some of which have even bought it in new colours.

One said: “Bought the black and white polka dot pattern which I’ve had my eye on for a while. Did not disappoint – the dress is very flattering, I really love the neckline and the floaty sleeves. Material feels really good quality. Also seems very versatile; could be dressed up with nice shoes and accessories or be a casual summer dress with trainers. I’m between 12-14 and the 12 fit perfectly. Will definitely be buying this dress in more prints!”

Another added: “I had the Bouvier dress which was a similar shape and I loved it so bought the Georgia as it looked similar. I was not disappointed – great shape, nipped in at the waist with a very nice square neckline. I hate to use the word flattering as it feels like shorthand for “makes you look less fat” and that’s not the right description. But it does hug your curves nicely, accentuates the waist and bust and feels very nice on. Plus it’s lined and yet cool enough for holidays in Portugal! I’m 16-18 depending on the style and brand. Often an 18 in Joanie but the 16 was perfect in this. At 5’2″ it’s also the perfect length, couple of inches above the ankle.”

“Beautiful dress love the polka dots,” said a third. “It fits beautifully with its good quality fabric washes well. l also brought the Polka dot hairband to complete the look.” While a fourth penned: “Lovely dress. Flattering. Has pockets. What more does one need in a dress!”

Elsewhere, this Nobody’s Child Delila linen midi dress in spot print, as seen on Fearne Cotton, is currently down to £20 on ASOS, having originally been £65. Or for something a little more expensive, Hobbs’ Petite Lucilla Dress is now £103.20, down from £189.

Back at Joanie, their sale also features a number of festive party-ready looks. The Nolly Gold Lurex Pussy Bow Mini Dress has turned heads and is currently on offer at £45, down from £75. For those looking for something with a bit more length for their next soiree, the striking Tori Diamond Print Balloon Sleeve Midaxi Dress is now discounted to £47.40, a reduction from its original price tag of £79.
