Police are investigating a midnight melee caught on camera which has rocked a village and appears to show a man assaulting several women.

A younger male is also repeatedly punched by a larger man and screams can be heard as a woman is pushed aggressively onto the road.

The shocking incident took place on Wednesday and the two-minute video begins with a lone male arriving at a property in the sleepy village of Killough which is about six miles from Downpatrick, Co Down.

After banging repeatedly on the front door, it’s eventually opened and the man can be heard demanding he is paid £200 he claims he is owed.

He shouts: “Give me the f**king money you owe me.”

A woman can be heard shouting at him: “I’ll give you it.” The man then replies, “Give me the f**king £200 and I’ll go.”

He also shouts: “She gave you £200 last year… out of my pocket, go get me it now.”

Then a girl’s voice is heard screaming, “No, that’s my mummy”, as it appears there’s a commotion inside.

The short clip then jumps to a distressing scene outside where the lone man, who had been demanding the £200, is already engaged in an altercation with what appears to be a much younger male, who is shirtless.

All hell breaks loose as the man appears to be swinging punches at the other male while women can be heard pleading for him to stop.

This incident takes place behind a fence in a neighbouring property and a number of females are witnessed trying to pull the man away.

At one stage the other male shouts: “I’m not scared of you, you’re a f**king tramp”.

The man shouts “You’re dead, you’re dead” at someone, while another woman can be heard shouting “There’s a baby here, there’s a baby here” while someone else is heard shouting “Get away from me”.

At one point one of the women trying to stop the older male attacking the younger one is pushed extremely hard and she falls onto the road.

Other women appear to be pushed and punched and kicked as they try to get between him and the younger man.

The older man walks into the neighbouring garden to continue his attack on the other male, who jumps and falls over the fence in a bid to escape.

It’s not clear how the incident was brought to a conclusion.

A source told the Sunday World: “Everyone is talking about the brawl from the other night because you could hear the screams from miles away.

“You don’t get many scraps here, it’s usually very quiet. There’s a lot of rumour about what it was all about but nobody knows for sure.”
