NI broadcaster Dean McCullough is the second celebrity to leave the jungle and described the experience as ‘absolutely nuts”.
He was in the final two with former boxer Barry McGuigan.
The Northern Irish presenter, 32, was greeted off the bridge by his mother, Ann, 51.
After establishing himself in the first episode as a campmate who screamed during Trials, Dean went on to be voted in for seven Bushtucker Trials.
Immediately after being voted out, Dean said: “I’m going home, I’m going home, I need my underwear, I’ll see you later! I’m going home!”
And speaking to Ant and Dec in the studio following the eviction he said: “Boys, it’s absolutely nuts. I still can’t believe I’m here.”
When Ant and Dec pointed out he didn’t look disappointed to be voted out, he said: “Not at all, I have really soaked up this whole experience. All the trials.”
Earlier in the show Barry took on the Bushtucker trial.
The Bushtucker trial aired on Sunday night was called ‘Spiralling Out of Control’ and it was up to the campmates to decide which celebrity should take part.
Without hesitation, Barry put his hand up and said: “I’ll do it!”
He revealed in the Bush Telegraph: “This is a comeback for me, I suffered a TKO in the first round, the last time but this time I’m determined to get it right and I’m looking for the knockout.”
Heading to the Bushtucker trial area, he told Ant and Dec “it was my time to step up.”
Finding out what was in store, Ant and Dec revealed that he would be strapped to a giant spiral wheel, with one hand free.
He would win stars by throwing balls into the hatches around the side, when they opened. With each ball into a hatch equalling one star.
With Barry all strapped in, he was joined by some offal, cockroaches and giant mealworms to kick off proceedings, before he started spinning around.
Struggling to find his bearings with the spinning, he found getting the right aim very difficult, only managing to get one ball in a hatch with 10 seconds to go during round one.
However, with the spiral wheel picking up the pace, so did Barry, as he successfully got a full house in all other rounds, scoring an impressive 10 out of a possible 11 stars.
Meanwhile, around the campfire, Dean shared his current relationship status, as he said: “I’ve been seeing someone since July, but we’re not boyfriends, we’re just dating.
“The first thing I messaged him before I came in here was: ‘I adore you.’ ”
He added: “He fills me with so much joy because he’s just a vibe.”
Oti Mabuse then asked Maura Higgins whether or not she’s single, to which she replied: “I am but I was seeing someone before I came in but I’m not in a relationship.”
Reverend Richard Coles added: “Was it exclusive? Or if I’ve put you on the spot, sorry!”
Maura paused, and looked pensive, as she said: “I dunno.”
Dean questioned: “Is it someone we would know?” Maura looked coy, and said: “Yeah..”
Richard replied: “Well that’s great, go Maura!”
Dean then asked: “So recently since you’ve been in here then have you gone: ‘Oh my god I miss him’?”
“Yeah.” admitted Maura.
That evening, the celebrities were given an opportunity to win their letters from home by identifying a secret sentimental phrase from their loved ones, that was mouthed to them by their chosen fellow camp mate.
Maura read Dean’s letter from his mum, who said of his Bushtucker trials: “The huntsman spiders are the worst for you, and the green ants, and the fish guts, actually everything.
“Saying that we couldn’t be prouder of how you have overcome all of your fears. Love you and I can’t wait for a big hug.”
Danny then read Barry’s from all of his grandchildren, as his grandaughter Orla said: “We love you so much Papa and we are all so proud of you.”
