Aldi customers have been snapping up one item since the retailer’s latest SpecialBuy range hit the shelves. The collection features a new hair styling gadget that’s giving Dyson serious competition, according to shoppers.
Those who’ve snagged Aldi’s Visage 5-in-1 Hair Styler are singing its praises online. The bargain supermarket, famed for its alternatives to premium brands, unveiled device on Thursday, November 28, as part of its latest Health and Beauty event.
The £49.99 product may seem steep for Aldi, but it’s being likened to the pricier Dyson Airwrap, which retails for about £479.99 (excluding any Black Friday offers) at shops like Boots and John Lewis. The product description boasts: “This 5-in-1 Hair Styler allows you to experience a strong airflow for quick drying and precise styling.
“Featuring automatic wrapping, curling, and styling with two curlers for versatile looks. It comes complete with a unique metal round brush, concentrated nozzle, and both 32mm and 60mm brushes to cater to all your styling needs.” Those who made it to their local Aldi when it dropped were able to test it and post their reviews online, reports the Mirror.
One TikTok user (@2024Bridemrsh) suggested it would be “the perfect Christmas gift”. She demonstrated the styler in several TikTok clips but was particularly “really impressed with” the results she got on the lowest heat setting.
After receiving advice from others who had used the product, she increased the heat setting and was amazed by the improvement. Many shared their opinions in the comments section.
One user said: “I got one! It’s fantastic!! I tried the Shark a few weeks back and the Aldi one is miles better!” Another added: “Got one today and having tried Dyson before, which is definitely better quality, I’m happy with Aldi as it does exactly the same for a fraction of the price.” A third commented: “I have the Dyson and that seems to be the best [alternative] I’ve seen.”
Someone else shared: “It took me a few attempts to get the hang of this. Apparently have slightly damp hair as well!” A fifth warned: “Dyson should be worried!”
However, not all customers were satisfied, as one stated: “I got mine this morning, tried it about an hour ago and it’s rubbish! I’m gutted I’ve wasted £50! Waiting to see if my daughter wants it and if not it’s going on Vinted!”
Someone else wrote: “I returned mine, it’s worse than the travel ones you get in hotels!” Whilst a third added: “Bought one yesterday and loved how the curls turned out, but they dropped out within honestly a minute!”
You can find out what’s going to appear in your local Aldi’s middle aisle beforehand by checking the online SpecialBuys page. It usually allows customers to see what is coming a few weeks in advance.
