It’s Black Friday which for thousands of UK shoppers means snapping up a product they’ve been clockwatching for price drops, usually the kind of products that make you think ‘I’ll wait for that to come in the sale’. Well today is that day, and for those who’ve had a pricey robot vacuum on their list we’ve found one for less than £100.

Vacuums are one household staple in the top of sales this Black Friday season and it’s not just Amazon with some hefty discounts to tempt shoppers. There are also cordless vacs from Dyson and Shark’s Black Friday sale, the Hoover sale, to Samsung and Roomba.

But Amazon shoppers keen to snap up the latest cleaning tech have been racing to snap up the Eufy G50 Robot Vacuum Cleaner, securing the rare £70 discount as it’s reduced from £169.99 to £99. The best-selling device does the vacuuming for you with some users saying it ‘even cleans for you while you sleep’.

These nifty AI fuelled devices usually come with a staggering cost, as there’s a price for the latest high-end tech that will scan out the dust in your home, focus on a problem area and avoid the furniture (oh, and the family pet). A cost which leaves many scouring the rival cordless vacuum deals instead which are a plenty – this Anti Hair Wrap Pet model from Hoover is currently £40 off.

Eufy’s become a staple name in the robot vacuum world along with pricer rivals like Roomba, Panasonic and Samsung, but it’s rare to find any model for less than £150, let alone £99 – which is why this deal caught our attention and boosted it to “number 1 bestseller on Amazon’.

“It seems to know when an area is very dirty and needs extra attention – under my sofa and beds has never been so clean”, said one shopper who contributed to the 9,030 ratings on Amazon.

“It also seems to learn how to get itself out of trouble the more you use it. Quiet enough that you can run it at night downstairs while you sleep. Love that it tells me via my phone when it’s in trouble and the machine itself beeps so I can go and find it.”

Another shopper shared how they found it easy to set up: “I’ve only had this for 24 hours and the house is spotless. It was up and running out of the box, app on my phone and hooked up to Alexa, in about 15 minutes” which may debunk a common myth that these ‘AI pets’ can be more hassle than what they’re worth.

“Dust champion” was the opening statement of another recent shopper who gave the G50 Robot Vacuum a full five-star rating. They said: “The suction is powerful enough for hard floors and short pile carpet, it collects a surprising amount of debris.

“It happily trundles under furniture to reach places often neglected by normal vacuuming. I did need to raise the height of some furniture by a couple of millimeters by fitting adhesive pads to the feet” as they highlighted a few teething issues with the robotic vacuum.

Getting stuck in and around furniture is a question asked by many with these hand-free devices. This shoppers highlights that it can happen at times: “Robovac kept getting stuck and would then be found sulking under a coffee table.”
