Esther Rantzen’s daughter Rebecca Wilcox has told GB News that the Assisted Dying Bill has “a lot more to do” after passing the vote in Parliament today.

Speaking to Katherine Forster, Wilcox explained: “If this bill passes today, there’s obviously a lot more to do, there’s a lot more processes to go through.

“We’re a nation of compassionate, kind people, and this bill has compassion and empathy and safeguards as its cornerstones.

“It couldn’t be more carefully set out to protect the vulnerable, to protect those of reduced capacity, but most importantly, to give people choice at the end so they don’t have to have a death that leaves their family traumatised and makes them worry for the rest of their lives, however long it is.”
