Prince Harry wants to branch away from producing Netflix documentary’s and is looking at a return as a senior working royal, according to an expert.

It comes after the Duke and Duchess of Sussex have been undergoing a separation of their professional engagements in a new working dynamic, ensuring one parent remains in California with their children, Prince Archie, five, and Princess Lilibet, three.

Royal writer Richard Eden has claimed that Palace sources “have made clear” that Harry wants to rejoin the Royal Family to make a bigger difference in his charitable work.

He claims: “Palace officials are increasingly convinced that Harry wants to resume his old way of life, when he felt he was using his privileged position to make a difference for worthwhile causes.”

“Harry’s heart is not in the TV stuff – anyone can see that,’ he claims one source told him.

Eden suggests that Harry’s absence from the polo series trailer, even though he is a keen player, is an effort to step away from the Netflix scene.

In the trailer, only his and Meghan’s name appears, in a production credit that reads “executive produced by Prince Harry and Meghan Markle teh Duke and Duchess of Sussex”.

Eden claims that after King Charles’s cancer treatment was announced in February, Harry let it be known to friends that he was willing to take on a temporary royal role in support of his father.

His offer was never taken up, but the California-based Prince is understood to be keen to spend more time in his homeland, according to the writer.

He also refers to Meghan’s lifestyle business as “yet to sell a single produce almost nine months after it was launched”.

Eden suggests that their thoughts may be turning to how to return to royal duties in order to secure funding as their multi-million-pound contract with Netflix is up for renewal next year.

“If the Duke and Duchess of Sussex are prepared to give up their private work and return to royal life, they would be welcomed back,” Eden claims one courtier told him.

He added: “Certainly, as long as King Charles is monarch.

“Prince William is unlikely to be as forgiving as his father.”

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are releasing their latest Netflix project in December titled Polo.

Their debut series, Harry & Meghan, was a massive hit on the streaming platform and broke several Netflix records.
