The Ontario Provincial Police have obtained an arrest warrant for Troy Ledrew, 29, of Toronto, in connection with Tuesday morning’s incident on Hwy. 401 in Mississauga during which a man, armed with a handgun, shot at vehicles.

Cop say Ledrew is considered armed and dangerous and was last seen on Fasken Dr. in Etobicoke.

So far, more than 10 motorists have reported their vehicles being struck by the gunshots. No serious injuries were reported.

The incident began on Tuesday shortly after 5 a.m., when the OPP received numerous 911 calls reporting that a male was seen shooting at passing vehicles on Hwy. 401, near Dixie Road, in Mississauga.

It was reported that the individual stole a vehicle from a passing motorist and fled the area.

Police said anyone with information on his whereabouts should contact authorities immediately and do not approach if spotted.

A video posted on X by @401_da_sarpanch, billed as “Canada’s #1 Trucking Page,” showed a man with a gun in the middle of the highway approaching a car on the driver’s side while a man’s voice can be heard saying, ‘Hey, no, no, no!’ and a woman’s voice can be heard saying, ‘Oh, my God!” before the car pulls away from the gunman.

Investigators are urging anyone who witnessed the incident or has information, or dash-cam footage, to contact the OPP at 1-888-310-1122 or report anonymously to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477) or online at ontariocrimestoppers.ca.
