Range Rovers and other luxury cars, including BMW and Mercedes models, are among 23 vehicles seized as part of a probe into a Dublin-based crime group.

The Criminal Assets Bureau (CAB) conducted a search operation in west Dublin on Wednesday as part of an ongoing investigation into targets linked to the gang, which gardai say is involved in trafficking drugs in the capital’s metropolitan area.

Armed gardai were among the 130 personnel which carried out searches in 14 different locations in the Dublin Metropolitan Region (DMR).

CAB officers were assisted by gardai from the DMR West region, the emergency response unit, the armed support unit, the stolen motor vehicle investigation unit and the customs dog unit.

Four hundred thousand euro in cash and frozen funds, as well as a quantity of suspected cannabis herb, electronic devices and assorted documentation were also seized.

Gardai said the operation was a “significant development” in CAB’s investigation.
