Black Friday is nearly here as the November 29 date fast approaches, but that hasn’t stopped some of the UK’s biggest companies from launching their deals early. Sky has caught the attention of TV fans this sale season with its newest streaming price drop.
The provider has reduced the price of its TV bundles to a new low, with packages now starting from just £19 per month – a price that even includes access to premium channels and Netflix. To take advantage of this offer, all you need to do is switch from your standard dish to streaming instead.
The £19 deal is available on Sky’s compact Stream box, which delivers live and on-demand shows and films to your big screen via the internet rather than an over-the-air signal with a bulky dish. This comes with several benefits as Sky Stream can be installed yourself, its signal isn’t affected by the weather and it also provides quick access to other streaming platforms as The Express Tech Editor David Snelling points out.
Measuring up why it’s a worthy deal to look at this Black Friday he said: “It also offers fast access to other streaming platforms such as Netflix, Disney+ and Apple TV+. Other features include personalised recommendations for things to watch, online recordings via the Playlists section and simple search via voice controls.”
Along with the Sky Stream bundle, the providers Sky Glass TV set has also been discounted. As Dave highlights what comes bundled with the integrated moel: “This TV features a built-in soundbar and also uses the internet to transmit shows and films to the 4K display. Sky Glass not only provides access to live and on-demand content, but it also comes pre-installed with all the major streaming apps and offers personalised recommendations for each family member.”
While Sky’s 2024 Black Friday deal has caught the attention of tech experts it’s not the only saving to make this Black Friday, and you may want to look elsewhere if you want to avoid tapping into a lengthy contract (which Sky nortoriously offers) – this can reach as long as 24 months which is a long time to commit.
If you were only looking for a TV device, and no channel packages, then Amazon is currently a good place to start to bag a saving on one of its standalone deals. Hisense is one model that’s caught our eye this past months and the Prime retailer is currently offering a Hisense TV and Soundbar bundle for £639, a saving of more than £300.
