Police are set to return to the scene of a fatal road crash in Belfast which claimed the life of a teenager last year.

The PSNI said their Collision Investigation Unit would be returning to the scene of the crash on the Antrim Road, which happened on Friday December 22 last year.

At the time the 18-year-old man was hospitalised following the crash between a car and a motorcycle that evening.

He tragically later died in hospital.

Police said new investigations and testing will be carried out and as a result there will be a number of road closures and diversions.

The Antrim Road will be closed between the junctions with the Old Cavehill Road and Donegal Park Avenue.

Meanwhile the North Circular Road will be closed between the junctions with Old Cavehill Road and Antrim Road.

The closures will be in place from 10pm on Wednesday 27th until 4am on Thursday 28th.

A PSNI spokesperson added: “We thank the public, including local residents in the area, for their patience as this important testing is carried out.”
