Ciara McCloskey, head of people at Data Intellect, was named Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Champion at the Belfast Telegraph IT Awards 2024.
Data Intellect delivers custom system solutions for industries such as finance, fintech, healthcare, and renewables, helping clients achieve business goals and meet market demands.
The judges commented that in her role, the award winner “has driven the company’s agenda to support women in STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics)”.
“Over the last year, Ciara has impacted the representation of women in Data Intellect and the wider STEM community in Northern Ireland.”
Ciara said it was “fantastic” to receive the award, adding that diversity is “part of our code” in the workplace.
“At Data Intellect, we consider diversity a key strength, and inclusivity is part of our code. It is exciting that our hard work has been recognised. We care about diversity and acknowledge its benefits – it is part of our code. I believe we’ve succeeded because we have commitment from people across the organisation and globally.
“We’ve gone beyond diversity in recruitment and embedded the mindset into our code. We continually try to embed diversity into our culture and take small steps to promote new ideas to ensure equality and inclusion are part of our strategy.”
The award winner credited Data Intellect’s success to its culture of nurturing employee talent and commitment.
“At Data Intellect, we believe our success is driven by the talent and commitment of our employees, supported with the resources to thrive – whether it’s their first day or 15th year.
“Part of our growth strategy is to build the best employee experience and encourage the continuous development of each of our people.
“Achieving this will mean reaching new peaks of progression, satisfaction, and reward. Our commitment to this and our people is one of the best things about working at Data Intellect.”
