Stormont was given a festive glow on Monday as a children’s choir attended Parliament Buildings to celebrate the Christmas lights being officially turned on.
Assembly Speaker Edwin Poots hosted the event in the Great Hall to mark the annual lighting of the Assembly’s Christmas tree and the launch of the Assembly Commission’s ‘Giving Tree’.
Donations to this year’s Giving Tree will go to the Assembly Commission’s Charity of the Year, with the Air Ambulance NI chosen this year.
Mr Poots was joined by a children’s choir from Clifton School, Bangor who performed a medley of Christmas songs.
