A yellow weather warning is in place for Northern Ireland, with high winds expected.

It comes after Storm Bert caused flooding in counties Down and Tyrone on Saturday.

At the peak of the storm on Saturday around 6,500 homes were left without power.

Sunday’s weather warning is in place until 6pm, with the potential to cause travel disruption and further power cuts.

The Met Office said gusts of between 45 and 55 mph are expected widely and gusts of up to 65 mph are possible over hills and in coastal areas.

Winds are expected to gradually ease over the course of Sunday night.

On Saturday, Storm Bert caused delays to rail services and the cancellation of several sporting fixtures.
