Like everyone else, me and my family jumped on the air fryer bandwagon after their popularity explosion when the cost of living crisis became a real thing for so many people.

The air fryer ticked all the boxes for people and even the likes of Jamie Oliver are doing TV programmes on how and what to cook with them.

With the promise of quick meals, healthier food, and reduced energy bills – we picked up a pretty cheap air fryer that doubled as a rotisserie chicken cooker.

We cooked one chicken, and then never did again, leaving us with a reasonable air fryer for some meals, but in truth we were envious of family members with the more traditional draw design air fryer.

So we were quite eager to put the Cosori TwinFry Dual Blaze 10L Air Fryer to the test and see how everyone else has been doing it.

The Cosori is a lot bigger than our previous air fryer, it’s 13 inches high and 20 inches wide, but it’s also very understated. My wife was particularly pleased that the subtle design matched the new kitchen we had put in last year.

As a gadget nut, I was just more interested in what it could do, because as I have learned over the years, it doesn’t matter what a gadget looks like, it’s all about whether it can do what it promises to do.

This air fryer was about to head into a serious interview process and I hoped it was prepared.

The big 10L drawer comes with two cooking zones or one large cooking sector, which means if you want to roast a big beef joint, you can. If you want to roast a smaller beef joint and then the veg in the next zone, you can do that by adding the divider down the middle.

So the flexibility is there with the size offering you plenty of options for cooking meals of different sizes, catering up to 8 people.

We have an ever growing family with two young grandchildren recently entering the equation, so that’s a big plus for us.

The variety of cooking options was also a huge tick in the right box and we have been impressed with being able to roast, bake, and grill whatever we like.

It makes quick meals and snacks a really fundamental part of your new routine.

As well as the fundamental requirements to cook everything you need for a meal, you can also bake cakes, make bread, and even cook toast.

We have tried many things so far from baked spuds to full Sunday dinners and a fair few things in between. The end result has always shown one consistency, the food is always nice and evenly cooked.

If you do have some foods that need to be cooked at different speeds and heats, that can easily be done and adapted to what you require.

The Dual Blaze technology means that the air fryer cooks food from the top and the bottom and in turn backs up the claim that it is cost-efficient and time-saving. In fact it cooks meals 65% quicker than a traditional oven would.

The compartment is easy to clean with a non-stick surface, and you can also stick it in the dishwasher if you so desire.

Being the gadget freak, I have to say, I was genuinely quite blown away with what this had to offer, and it all spans from the brilliant app that accompanies it.

The app syncs up with your air fryer and offers you a wealth of information and options. There is a big catalogue of recipies and how to cook then, which as someone who isn’t too blessed in the culinary area, I found really easy to follow.

There are dozens of preset temperatures and cooking times for each different style of cooking, meaning you can cut out the process of needing to try and work out things.

It also displays a number of different food categories and types where you select the food you are wanting to cook. You are then presented with an option to adjust the weight, and how you want it cooked, which in turn tells you the new cooking time, where to cook it, and on what setting.

The magic of the app is that you can connect to the Cosori air fryer via wi-fi and do it all remotely from your phone.

The one thing I did notice was that you can’t start the cooking from your phone. You can stop it on your phone, but you can’t press go. Not a major thing, and I would hazard a guess that this is a safety net to ensure you don’t cook without realising.

Of course, you don’t have to use the app. I would be offended if you didn’t, but you don’t have to. The good thing is that the air fryer has a big touchscreen panel that is very easy to use.

It’s a really nice design build and feels very much like a premium quality kitchen device, which it clearly is.

I’m yet to have any gripes with the performance and it’s perfect for people with larger families. With the previous air fryer we would store it away when not in use, but with this one it has to be kept out really because at 9kg in weight, it would be unpractical to move it around too much.

You can currently get this at £199.99 which admittedly is at the top end of the marker for dual draw air fryers, but the quality on offer here really is pretty impressive.

User reviews

Andy writes : Setup was simple and the instructions were easy to follow, the air fryer itself has a very modern sleek design with no physical buttons in sight, everything is controlled using the touch panel. There is also an accompanying App should you want to monitor or control things from another room, though this is not mandatory. I have found it to perform just as well, if not better, than my Ninja did. Cleaning is easy thanks to the non stick drawer which can also be put in the dishwasher for cleaning. It also has heaters at the bottom as well as the top to better distribute the heat.

S Porter: You can download the VeSync app, offering remote control, cooking progress tracking, and access to 70+ recipes. We were able to do this and were quite impressed, as you can keep an eye on It while you are going the gardening! Cleaning was straightforward with non-stick, dishwasher-safe parts, and it comes with a two-year warranty and lifetime customer support. It is a little pricier even than my last Ninja but based on evidence and potential – it is well worth it. This is well made, reasonably priced and great value.

Simon and Tatania: The only critical point I found is that it does take up a considerable amount of space in the kitchen, but given its performance and versatility, I think it’s well worth it. The non-stick surface is a breeze to clean, and it’s even dishwasher safe, making cleanup quick and easy.
