British pop rock band The 1975 are among those rumoured to be taking a headline spot on the Friday night at Glastonbury 2025. Comprising of lead vocalist and rhythm guitarist Matthew Healy, lead guitarist Adam Hann, bassist Ross MacDonald, and drummer George Daniel, the band is reportedly set to perform on the Pyramid Stage next summer.

Although the lineup has not been officially announced, a source told The Sun: “Matty and his bandmates are more than ready to play the Pyramid Stage and they are available.

Festival organiser Emily Eavis has long desired to have The 1975 on board, but scheduling conflicts prevented this last year. They are being lined up for the Friday slot at the moment, and all the signs are really positive.”

The five-day festival, which takes place in June at Somerset’s Worth Farm, attracts around 200,000 music fans each year. Official Glastonbury tickets went on sale on November 14 and November 17.

The stakes for the Glastonbury festival were higher than usual, as 2026 will be a fallow year, meaning the event won’t take place. The festival traditionally takes a break every five years to allow the farmland it’s held on to recover fully.

Harry Styles, the former One Direction star, is being considered by festival organisers to headline next year’s event, marking his sensational return to live music. The 30 year old surprised fans in July when he made a guest appearance at Stevie Nicks’ BST performance in Hyde Park.

A source revealed: “Matty and his bandmates are more than ready to play the Pyramid Stage and they are available. Festival organiser Emily Eavis has long wanted The 1975 on board, but they couldn’t make it work last year.

Another source told The Sun: “Harry would be the perfect Glastonbury headliner and Emily has long wanted him on stage at Worthy Farm, but the dates have never quite worked out.” The Sun also reported that Harry has been approached by Emily Eavis about headlining the Pyramid Stage at Worthy Farm.

However, it appears that he may now have a free June for Glastonbury as he continues to work on his fourth album. Whether that dream will come true, however, is still to be decided by Harry’s team. Ed Sheeran has also been tipped to perform at Glastonbury 2025.

The pop star, 33, last played the Worthy Farm festival in 2017 but it has now been reported that he could take on a ‘special slot’ on the Friday night before resuming his European tour. A source told The Sun on Sunday: “Ed adores performing at Glastonbury and getting to sing to so many fans on a massive scale. He hasn’t got any big UK gigs lined up next summer, so this would be really special.”
