Two homes have been ransacked in two burglaries which police believe may be linked in Newry
Both incidents occurred on Wednesday, with the first report of a burglary in the Carnagh Park area, sometime between 4.30pm and 7pm, when the residents were not present.
A police spokesperson said: “An unknown person forced entry into a window at the rear of the property, the house was rummaged through, with a number of items taken.”
Police then received a report of another burglary in the Chapel Street area, which occurred between 11pm and 7pm. The resident then returned home to find their house had been ransacked with a number of items taken.
“At this stage, we are treating these incidents as linked and are appealing to anyone who may have been in the areas at the time, or who may have dashcam or other footage to contact us on 101, quoting reference 1434 20/11/24.
