Tesco is inviting its customers to help spread the festive cheer by donating toys to children who might otherwise go without this Christmas. Over 800 Tesco large stores will have a dedicated donation point where customers can drop-off new, unwrapped toys.
These gifts will be collected and distributed by local charities, ensuring local children have a present to open on Christmas morning. Claire De Silva, Head of Communities at Tesco, said: “We believe every child deserves to feel the magic of Christmas. Our annual toy donation campaign is a wonderful way for our customers and colleagues to come together and make a real difference in our communities. We are also very proud to support the Salvation Army in their mission to help those in need.”
Tesco is donating £25,000 to The Salvation Army to support their work to provide essential services and support to vulnerable families during the festive season.
Salvation Army Lt. Colonel Nick Coke said: “We are really pleased to be receive this donation from Tesco, this support helps The Salvation Army share comfort and joy with people who need it most.. Last year, we distributed more than 85,000 gifts as part of our Christmas Present Appeal and we are expecting the number of families requesting help to rise. Please give a gift today to change someone’s life.”
