Prince Andrew was joined by his three-year-old granddaughter Sienna for a morning horse ride in Windsor on Tuesday, as the youngster appears to be following in her family’s equestrian footsteps.

The tot, daughter of Princess Beatrice and Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi, is carrying on a cherished royal tradition by learning to ride at a young age.

The activity mirrors the path of her grandmother, Sarah, Duchess of York, who also learned horse riding from an early age.

Sienna was wrapped up warmly against the November chill as she was guided around the paddock on her pony.

The morning ride wasn’t without incident for her grandfather, as the Duke of York nearly took a tumble during the excursion.

The 62-year-old royal had a brief scare when his horse began to trot vigorously, almost unseating him.

However, Andrew quickly regained his composure as the animal settled back into its morning walk, avoiding what could have been an unfortunate fall.

Sienna, who was born on 18 September 2021, has never been publicly photographed, with her parents choosing to protect her privacy online.

She already has an older half-brother, eight-year-old Christopher Woolf, known as Wolfie, from her father Edoardo’s previous relationship with American architect Dara Huang.

The Duke of York and Sarah, Duchess of York, who reside at nearby Royal Lodge, have maintained close ties with their grandchildren.

According to author Robert Hardman, Andrew has reportedly secured independent funding to maintain his residence, with sources confirming he “is no longer a financial burden on the King.”

Exciting family news awaits little Sienna as she prepares to become a big sister, with Princess Beatrice expecting her second child in early spring.

Buckingham Palace confirmed the pregnancy announcement in October, marking another joyous addition to the royal family.

The new arrival will be the King’s great-nephew or niece and will take the position of 11th in line to the throne, behind Sienna.
