A Co Tyrone village was turned into a winter wonderland as snow hit parts of Northern Ireland.

A weather warning remains in place until 10am this morning after another cold night.

Among the places affected by snow last night was Carrickmore.

The previous night, Monday, also saw snowfall, mainly over hills and mountains, in some areas.

Police have warned motorists of difficult driving conditions today.

The PSNI said: “Please take extra care on the roads this morning especially on those which may not have been gritted.

“Clear your windscreen of ice and snow before you set off and remember to slow down and increase the distance between you and the car ahead.”
