Former I’m A Celebrity star Kerry Katona has cast doubt on Coleen Rooney’s chances of winning the jungle crown, suggesting the WAG’s personality might not be “big enough” to carry her through the show.

Speaking to GB News, Katona shared her predictions for this year’s series, naming Mcfly star Danny Jones as her favourite to win.

She said: “Look my winner is Danny Jones, I think everyone loves him, I love Alan [Halsall], I absolutely adore Alan.

“I love Dean [Gaffney], GK Barry, I know Coleen, I love Coleen. I just don’t think her personality is going to be big enough to get us through it.

“Although we do want to hear lots more gossip about the Wagatha trial and things like that. But my winner so far is definitely going to be Danny Jones.”

Rooney has now opened up about the high-profile legal battle for the first time since entering the jungle, despite reports that Rebekah Vardy had “vowed to call in the lawyers” if she discussed the case.

LATEST DEVELOPMENTS

Speaking to campmates GK Barry, Jane Moore and Dean McCullough, Rooney described the court case as her “worst nightmare.”

“That was my worst nightmare to go to court. I felt ashamed going to court because I’m not the type to play things out in public,” she revealed.

The conversation was eagerly anticipated by fellow campmate GK Barry, who later enthused in the jungle telegraph: “Coleen spoke about Wagatha.

“I was sat in position, ears open. It was so interesting to hear it from Coleen. That’s my jungle experience. I’m good.”

Rooney also shared with her campmates the reasoning behind her original social media post that sparked the legal battle.

“I didn’t think it would get the impact it did,” she admitted. “I’d just done it because I was that sick and tired of it. It was draining.”

“What got me over the whole thing, it became a bit of a joke. And that’s what really disappointed me. It wasn’t a joke for me,” she said.

She pushed back against trivialising comparisons, adding: “People were saying, ‘oh, it’s just like two schoolgirls’, but no one knew the full story.”

The Wagatha Christie saga culminated in 2022 with a £1.8 million court case that ruled in Rooney’s favour.

Vardy was left liable to pay £1.5 million towards Rooney’s legal fees, with £100,000 of this ordered to be paid just last month.

Before Rooney’s jungle appearance, reports emerged that Vardy had instructed her lawyers to monitor the show closely.

A source told The Sun: “Becky was absolutely agog to hear Coleen was doing I’m A Celeb and fears a whole new round of allegations about their WAG war.”
