Newtownabbey DJ Dean McCullough has yet again had a disappointing result in a Bushtucker trial during the latest episode of ITV’s I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! as he and campmate TikToker and influencer GK Barry managed to win zero stars.

Last night, hosts Ant and Dec confirmed the pair, who have previously competed in one trial each in the series so far, would take on ‘Drown in the Dumps’ together.

The pair hoped to achieve similar success to GK’s first trial when she took home nine stars during a volcano-themed challenge – but it was not replicated in Dean’s first trial, when he shouted the infamous ‘I’m a Celebrity, Get Me Out of Here!’ after only winning two stars during Tuesday’s Egypt-themed ‘Sinister Sarcophagus’.

During his trial, all got too much for the radio presenter which saw him break into tears after being trapped in an enclosed space.

However, despite the pair being hyped up by their campmates with Dean’s fellow Radio 1 star Melvin Odoom predicting the twosome would win “ten stars” and even the pair shouting “Let’s give it large!” as they headed down to the trial area, it sadly didn’t go in Dean or GK’s favour.

Soon after they arrived Ant and Dec revealed that one of them would be positioned at the top, while the other would go at the bottom.

The person in the top section (decided to be Dean) had to feel around in the hell holes to find keys with gold tags attached – they then had to drop the keys into the pipe down to the person in the bottom (GK), who could use the keys to unlock the 10 available stars for camp.

Silver keys were also available, but they wouldn’t unlock anything. During the Trial, they also learned that water would flow through the top section into the bottom section, where it would slowly fill up.

As the two got into position, GK admitted, “I have no words.”

As Dean managed to find his first gold key, he passed it down the pipe to GK, but she couldn’t catch it, and as it disappeared into the water filling up below her, she vowed not to move from her position.

With time running out and 2 minutes left, GK finally conquered her fears and dove down, trying to unlock one of the padlocks with a gold key she had.

“When she screams, I scream, it’s a vicious circle,” the Radio 1 star said, explaining the reaction of his Bushtucker Trial companion.

Unfortunately viewers watched as GK was only able to hold her breath for a short time, and frustratingly, it seemed every padlock she tried didn’t open.

With Ant and Dec counting down the seconds, she was also spooked by an eel and screamed, “I’m done, I’m done!”

Defeated with zero stars won, GK and Dean were left to go back to camp empty-handed.

“That was awful,” Dean explained.

“I’m mortified to go back and tell them, this is the worst walk of shame I’ve ever done” said the TikTok star.
