The nauseating incident took place on the Sol Spin ride at Knotts Berry Farm in Buena Park, Calif., on Monday afternoon, a park spokesperson told KABC.
There were 22 guests on the ride at about 2 p.m. when it “experienced technical difficulties, causing the ride to stop mid-cycle,” the statement added.
Riders were only successfully evacuated two-and-a-half hours later around 4:30 p.m. after park officials “followed the ride manufacturer’s and Knott’s’ emergency procedures” to safely get everyone off the ride.
The thrill ride consists of six spinning arms that soar more than six stories high and rotate 36- degrees, giving riders the sensation of spinning in three directions at once, according to the park’s website.
When the ride froze, riders were left dangling and leaning at multiple angles, though none appeared to be hanging upside down, according to the outlet.
Footage showed amusement park staffers using a crane to perform repairs on the ride about an hour before guests were rescued.
Some were seen stretching their backs and limbs, while others were hunched over as they readjusted to being back on the ground.

According to the park spokesperson, two female guests were taken to hospital for further evaluation “out of an abundance of caution.”
