Coleen Rooney has reportedly banned her husband Wayne from visiting her during her stint on I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here!, despite being separated by 10,000 miles.

The media personality, who is said to be earning a record-breaking £1.5m fee alongside Nigel Farage for her appearance on the ITV show, wants to ensure her jungle experience remains solely focused on her.

A source told Closer magazine: “This is Coleen’s big moment and she wants to ensure that nothing gets in the way of that or deters the attention from her comeback, which she fears Wayne’s presence could do.

“Given all the public and private storms they’ve weathered over the years, she doesn’t want to risk having their marriage being thrust back into the spotlight and her time in the jungle being overshadowed by any negativity that could come with Wayne’s appearance.”

The couple reportedly had difficult discussions about Wayne’s potential visit to Australia, weighing up the pros and cons of him making the journey.

Despite Wayne’s willingness to arrange cover for his Plymouth Argyle managerial duties, Coleen remained firm in her decision.

The source revealed: “Wayne really wanted to be there and insisted he could get cover for the games he’d miss.

“Coleen was pretty adamant that this needed to be her moment to shine and said his work commitments would be the perfect disguise.”

The Rooneys are currently living apart, with Wayne based in Devon for his Plymouth Argyle duties, whilst the family remains in Cheshire.

“We thought long and hard about it [moving to Devon], but with the kids, it didn’t work,” Coleen told the Sunday Mirror.

Rooney took charge of Plymouth in the summer after a shock appointment by the Championship club.

However, the Manchester United legend has already come under pressure with his side 18th in the division.

The family manages to see Wayne a couple of times per week, which Coleen views as a positive arrangement.

“He went to America, so this is a bonus because even though it seems like far away, it’s easier to get to than Washington, DC,” she added.

Wayne has vowed to be Coleen’s “anchor at home” alongside her parents while she tackles the jungle challenges.

“Coleen was understandably incredibly emotional leaving them and had a couple of wobbles,” the source told Closer.
