Two men were arrested Tuesday in connection with the death of cryptocurrency influencer Kevin Mirshahi, the Sûreté du Québec said.
Darius Perry, 27, and Nackael Hickey, 26, were to be in court Tuesday, accused of complicity in Mirshahi’s death and the kidnappings of three people.
Perry was arrested in Châteauguay, in collaboration with local police, an SQ spokesperson said. Hickey was already in SQ custody.
The arrests come weeks after police found a body at Île-de-la-Visitation park in Montreal’s Ahuntsic-Cartierville borough that the SQ later identified as belonging to Mirshahi.
Mirshahi was abducted from a condo building alongside three others June 21. While the three other abductees were found soon after, Mirshahi remained missing until his body turned up months later.
In August, the SQ arrested a 32-year-old woman in connection with the death and kidnappings. It followed an arrest warrant that was made public alleging Joanie Lepage, 32, of Les Cèdres, killed Mirshahi on June 21, the day he was abducted.
