Chaos erupted at Tuesday evening’s press conference as Tommy Fury and Darren Till came face-to-face ahead of their January bout.

The event descended into mayhem when John Fury, Tommy’s father, threw a glass of water at Till during a heated exchange of insults between both camps.

The water largely missed its intended target, instead soaking Tommy, but the incident enraged Till who attempted to charge at the 59-year-old John Fury.

Security guards were forced to restrain the Liverpudlian fighter as John Fury, showing no signs of backing down, removed his jacket and looked ready to confront Till.

Both camps had to be physically separated as tensions continued to escalate.

The January 18 clash will mark Tommy Fury’s return to boxing after more than a year’s absence from the ring.

The bout is scheduled to take place at Manchester’s Co-Op Live Arena, with former UFC star Till stepping in as Fury’s opponent.

Fury, the former Love Island contestant, had been rumoured to appear on this year’s I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here!

However, reports suggest he opted out of the reality show for a more lucrative offer.

The fight will be promoted by KSI’s Misfits Boxing, bringing an additional layer of intrigue given Fury’s history with the YouTuber-turned-boxer.

That October 2023 bout saw Fury secure a controversial unanimous decision victory over KSI, though the YouTuber continues to dispute the result.

More than a year later, KSI maintains he should have won and has taken to calling himself Fury’s ‘dad’ as the 25-year-old prepares to fight under his promotional banner.

Fury has dismissed these claims, telling Mail Sport: “Of course he has something to say. He’s a bum that released a s*** song and is getting a load of hate so now he’s trying to back up there again now.”

The unbeaten boxer mocked KSI for ‘paying me millions to fight’ on his promotion.

“What an absolute fool. He’s paying the guy he hates and still bitter about millions. Plus I’m headlining in my own town. Thanks mate, keep it coming you absolute doughnut,” Fury continued about KSI.

The past year has been particularly challenging for the boxer, who underwent crucial hand surgery.

“It’s been the hardest year of my life,” Fury revealed to Mail Sport.

“Starting the year out, I was in a hospital bed, and the doctor said if I didn’t fix this now, I probably wouldn’t box again.”

However, Fury remains optimistic about his recovery, stating:”‘Everything’s fine now. Honestly, it (the hand) feels better than ever.’
