Football fans have mocked Harry Kane after the Bayern Munich and England star’s statue was recently unveiled after five years of sitting in storage.
The Bayern Munich star was visibly delighted as he sat next to his bronze alter ego at the Peter May Sports Centre in Walthamstow, London, on Monday.
The statue depicts Kane sitting down while holding a football on his lap, while also smiling.
He sat next to his likeness on Monday less than 24 hours after scoring in England’s emphatic 5-0 victory over the Republic of Ireland at Wembley.

The statue cost a huge £7,200 after being commissioned by the borough of Waltham Forest, where he was born, back in 2019.
It was previously in storage for five years because council chiefs didn’t know of a place suitable to put it.
Kane reacted on social media by saying: “A real proud moment for me to go back to where my life in football began and unveil a statue.
“I hope it helps inspire the next generation to work hard and believe in themselves.”

Yet football fans on social media have been left far from impressed.
Many were quick to post Cristiano Ronaldo’s own bronze bust, which was widely mocked after being shown off in 2017.
The creator, Emanuel Santos, actually then created another due to the big backlash.
One fan dubbed Kane’s statue as ‘horrific’, writing: “Sitting beside it proud as punch unaware that it looks absolutely horrific.”

A second said: “Gosh, we really have forgotten the art of sculpting hey! Look at this, and the technology we have available today, and then compare it to what the Romans were putting together with skill alone over 500 years ago. Congrats though Harry, well deserved!”
A third stated: “Almost as bad as the Ronaldo sculpture. Almost.”
Another wrote: “That thing is nowhere close to Harry Kane.”
A fifth criticised it by saying: “The pain behind that smile.”

Meanwhile, Kane was recently criticised after he appeared to call out some of his England team-mates.
The Bayern Munich star suggested some players weren’t as passionate about their country compared to their clubs.
But Kane was pleased with England’s stirring win over England and singled out West Ham’s Jarrod Bowen for praise.

“We spoke about new opportunities for new lads, and they’ve shown why they are here and a couple of good finishes,” he told ITV. “It was nice for Jarrod too to come on and score straight away.
“Thomas [Tuchel] has a lot of players to choose from.
“A lot of young players that have come in and done well and some more experienced players that are injured and will be looking to come back, so there’s a good balance.
“I’m sure he [Tuchel] will be looking at everyone.”
