I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here is back for a new series this weekend, with Ant and Dec fronting the popular reality show once again.

A new host of celebrities will be put through their paces as they take on the gruelling challenge in hopes to be crowned king or queen of the jungle.

Among this year’s line-up is TV personality Coleen Rooney, 38. She will join Tulisa Contostavlos, Oti Mabuse, Alan Halsall, Jane Moore, Dean McCullough, Melvin Odoom, Coleen Rooney, Barry McGuigan, GK Barry and Danny Jones.

Mother-of-four Rooney has in the past had reservations about leaving her sons for a lengthy period, but explained why she decided to take part in the Australian-based show.

She and former football star Wayne Rooney, 39, share Kai, 13, Klay, 10, Kit, seven and Cass, five.

Explaining two of her sons don’t know she’ll soon be jetting off to the jungle, she detailed: “I haven’t spoken about it with my younger two boys as not many know, but my eldest son told me, ‘Yeah, go for it,'” she explained.

“My second one was a bit more emotional. He thought about me being away for a long length of time, but hopefully that will pass.

“My parents are happy too that I’m doing something for me.”

The Liverpool-born media personality also detailed why she felt the show would be “good for me,” admitting to ITV: “It has been a year after year I have been asked to go on a programme and it’s always been a straight no.

“Over the years, there have been different things going on in my life and also, my children have been really young.

“But they are at an age now where I can go away for this length of time.

Rooney also highlighted her enthusiasm for the show as a long-term viewer of the annual series.

“I do watch the show every year, you get hooked on it, you get to know the campmates, the challenges are always entertaining and it’s a good family show,” she reflected.

Expressing why she feels proud of herself for accepting the opportunity, Rooney shared: “The most rewarding thing for me is the fact I have actually agreed to do it.

“It’s a massive thing as I am so close to the children, I do everything for them.

“I am a really organised person and so to take myself away from that is going to be difficult.

“But I’ve got a very supportive family around me and I know everything is going to be fine.”

Rooney has been in the spotlight for the last few years over a legal battle against fellow footballer’s wife Rebekah Vardy.

The infamous “Wagatha Christie” court case remained in headlines after the two become embroiled in a very public feud.
