Santa has arrived in Belfast ahead of the big Christmas switch on set to take place at City Hall this evening.
Festive celebrations officially kicked off as CastleCourt’s Santa Parade made its way through the city centre on Saturday afternoon to usher in the most wonderful time of the year.
Participants and spectators sang and danced amid plenty of cheering on the streets as the man in red made his way to the shopping centre’s Winter Wonderland Grotto.
Dozens of Disney characters, Marvel heroes and animated floats helped create a carnival atmosphere with a little help from some North Pole visitors.
However, Mr and Mrs Claus were the centre of attention and were joined by charity partner NI Hospice.
It all unfolded on the same day the 2024 Belfast Christmas Market opened its doors to celebrate its 20th year at City Hall.
A large crowd is expected to gather there this evening to see yuletide illuminations being switched on by the Lord Mayor.
Micky Murray.will flick the switch at 6.30pm to spread even more Christmas magic in the city.
