Lisnagarvey could reclaim the top spot in the EYHL should they beat fourth-placed YMCA on Saturday afternoon.
The Ulster side dropped to second following a 2-1 defeat to local rivals Banbridge last weekend, leaving them two points behind Three Rock Rovers.
Prior to last Saturday’s loss, Erroll Lutton’s side had won their opening six games of the season and had looked unstoppable due to their blistering form in front of goal.
The Hillsborough outfit have been led by Ben Nelson who has already netted eight goals this year but has failed to score in two of his last three outings.
His side now take on YMCA who are five points behind them in fourth and recently held Banbridge to a 3-3 draw.
Should Garvey overcome their tricky opposition, they could make an immediate return to top spot should Three Rock Rovers fail to beat Avoca.
In Dublin, Banbridge are out to continue their fine form as they travel to face Pembroke Wanderers.
Last week’s derby win saw Scott McCandless’ side continue their unbeaten start to the campaign with four wins and two draws from their opening six games.
The victory also saw youngster James Evans net his first goal of the campaign whilst Philip Brown got a joint team-high sixth.
They now take on a Pembroke Wanderers side who won just once all season and have lost four of their opening seven games, leaving them seventh in the table but six points above the drop zone.
The final EYHL game of the weekend sees Annadale continue their search for a first win of the season as they host UCD.
The Belfast club got their first point of the 2024/25 season in a 1-1 draw with Avoca last weekend thanks to a goal from Charlie McKeown.
They now face bottom of the League UCD in a relegation six-pointer and know a win could see them climb out of the drop zone.
In the Men’s Premier League, leaders South Antrim are out to continue their perfect start to the season as they face high-flying Portadown.
The Lisburn side are the only team yet to drop points this campaign and have a two point lead at the summit of the division.
Last week they overcame Kilkeel with David Gallagher and Chris Henry both scoring for the second week running but now face a strong Portadown outfit.
The travelling side suffered a heavy opening day defeat against Queen’s University but have picked up seven points from the following three games with Ryan Bennett netting five goals in that time.
