The Traitors is a psychological reality competition series based on the Dutch show De Verraders. The show involves a group of contestants working together to complete challenges and build a prize fund, all while trying to identify and eliminate “traitors” hidden among them.

The show starts with a mix of contestants, often including celebrities in some versions, or regular participants in others. A few players are secretly designated as “Traitors,” while the rest are “Faithfuls.” The Traitors work together to sabotage the group and eliminate the Faithfuls without being discovered.

Contestants work as a team to complete challenges, earning money for the prize pot. At the end of each day, contestants vote to banish someone they suspect is a Traitor. Additionally, the Traitors secretly “murder” one Faithful overnight, removing them from the game.

The format has been adapted in various countries, including the UK, US, and Australia, each with their unique twists. The Traitors combines elements of social deduction games like Werewolf or Mafia with reality TV drama.
