Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez made a subtle change to her X account and many people – including Riley Gaines – quickly took notice.

The progressive Democratic congresswoman from New York took her pronouns out of her bio and X users quickly caught on, resulting in AOC becoming a trending conversation on the platform.

Gaines, an outspoken advocate for women’s sports, didn’t hold back and tore into AOC, who has long supported transgender athletes competing against biological women.

“They’ll pretend they never embraced (or even celebrated) the insanity,” the former NCAA swimmer wrote in response to a post that claimed Ocasio-Cortez removed her pronouns earlier this year.

“Don’t forget who the compliant, virtue-signaling sheep were,” Gaines added.

Gaines mocked Ocasio-Cortez again while responding to an old video that showed the politician apologizing for not including pronouns in her bio next to a photo that showed they were removed.

“We’re winning and it’s glorious,” Gaines noted.

She later mocked the congresswoman again, asking, “How will we know what to call AOC now that her pronouns in her bio are gone?!?!?!”

AOC has long advocated for transgender rights and the inclusion of trans women in women’s sports.

She called out the Green Party presidential ticket after the party’s vice presidential nominee, Butch Ware, spoke out against transgender athletes in women’s sports.

“I don’t think that biological males should play in female sports,” Ware said in a now-deleted video posted to X earlier this month. “I think it gives an unfair, you know, competitive advantage.”

Ocasio-Cortez wrote: “This ticket is predatory and people deserve better.”

Gaines replied at the time, “AOC says it’s predatory behavior to not want men competing in women’s sports. To AOC, acknowledging biological reality is ‘predatory.’ You know what’s actually predatory? Sexualizing children and normalizing pedophilia.”

The U.S. collegiate swimmer-turned-activist has been fighting trans inclusion in women’s sports since she tied trans athlete Lia Thomas at the 2022 NCAA championships.

Gaines was relentless about AOC’s pronouns removal, writing in another recent post: “It was imminent that identity politics would die from its inception. People have had enough.”
