Prince Harry has fumbled a public olive branch he received from members of the Royal Family.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex opted not to send a public birthday message to King Charles on Thursday.
The monarch turned 76 yesterday and it was his first birthday since being diagnosed with cancer in February 2024.

Despite returning to the UK three times since his reunion with his father at Clarence House, Harry has not seen King Charles for nearly nine months.
However, to mark the Duke of Sussex’s 40th birthday on September 15, the Royal Family’s official social media account, which represents King Charles, issued a public birthday message to Prince Harry.
The King was not alone in sending a message to Harry with Prince William and Princess Kate’s official social media account also posting a birthday message to the Duke of Sussex.

Royal Family accounts normally issue messages for milestone birthdays of non-working members of the Royal Family but as Prince Harry’s relationship with senior royals has been strained over the last few years, the well wishes in September looked like an olive branch to him and Meghan.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex did not publicly acknowledge King Charles’s milestone 75th birthday last year.

According to reports, the King did receive a call from his youngest son to mark the occasion.
Prince Harry’s intention to call his father on his birthday in 2023 was made public.
However, with no public acknowledgement of the King’s birthday this year or any confirmation of a private phone call between the Sussexes and the monarch, it appears Harry and Meghan have let the latest royal olive branch slip through their fingers.
