King Charles appears to have made an unusual decision that concerns two royals.
The monarch has appointed King Abdullah of Jordan and King Hamad of Bahrain as Honorary Knights Grand Cross of the Royal Victorian Order.
The King hosted Jordan’s King last week, and Bahrain’s monarch on Monday as they both visited the UK.
However, it is unusual for current monarchs to receive this title.

Most royals appointed to this role are either members of the British Royal Family or the heirs to their country’s thrones.
However, both Middle Eastern monarchs mark their silver jubilees this year.
Usually, the honour is bestowed during a state visit, however, Abdullah and Hamad did not visit the UK for this reason.
The Royal Victoria Order was established by Queen Victoria to mark her Diamond Jubilee, to highlight the services undertaken to the British Empire.
The visits came ahead of King Charles 76th birthday, which he treated as a normal working day and carried out royal duties.

Charles marked the occasion by opening two Coronation Food Hubs to celebrate the project’s first anniversary, shaking hands with London Mayor Sadiq Khan in person during the opening of one, while opening the other virtually.
Buckingham Palace marked King Charles III’s 76th birthday by releasing a striking new portrait of the monarch.
The image showed the King wearing a smart royal blue suit with a matching patterned tie, standing confidently with one hand in his pocket whilst resting the other on a chair.
