A local councillor has said residents in a Co Armagh village have been left “disgusted” after a car and house were burnt out in recent days.
The incident happened in the Moss Row area of Darkley, with images from the street showing the white vehicle completely gutted, alongside the nearby terraced property.
The SDLP’s local councillor Thomas O’Hanlon said he has been working with the police and other agencies to get the car removed and the area cleaned up, with it expected the vehicle will be removed later today.
However, he slammed those behind the incident and said it is “absolutely nothing to do with the good people of Darkley”.
“Over the last week I have been working with the residents of Moss Row, Darkley in relation to the removal of this burnt out vehicle,” he wrote on social media.

“I’ve liaised between residents, council and the PSNI. It’s hoped this will be removed tomorrow. A clean up of the area by council will follow.
“It’s important to highlight this incident is being investigated by the PSNI , however let me be categorically clear, this is absolutely nothing to do with the good people of Darkley.
“Local residents are absolutely disgusted that this has happened in their area.
“I’ll be meeting with the police in relation to this incident and seeking assurances that those behind this will be caught and held accountable.
“This is not Darkley and nothing to do with the people of Darkley.”
The PSNI has been contacted for a response.
