A man who died in a crash in Co Fermanagh on Friday last week has been named as 42-year-old Yevhenii Ivanenko, police have confirmed.

Mr Ivanenko died following the two-vehicle collision in Enniskillen on the Derrylin Road as he was coming home from work.

The incident happened around 9.30pm.

Police said Mr Ivanenko was the rider of a Honda CBF 600 motorcycle and died at the scene of the crash.

Mr Ivanenko was a Ukrainian national, with friends and family having set up a fundraiser to repatriate his body back to Ukraine.

“Yevhenii lost his life tragically on Friday 8th November on his way home from work,” the GoFundMe said.

“Unfortunately in times like this we rely so much on family, friends and colleagues to help us fundraise to be able to send Yevhenni back to his home land of Ukraine to rest in peace.

“This cost will be a huge burden to Yevhennii’s family so we would like to make the next few weeks and months ahead easier for Yevhenii’s family. If anyone would like to donate it would be greatly appreciated.”

In an update today those behind the fundraiser said Mr Ivanenko’s wife was “amazed by your kindness”.

“Thank you all so much, the donations and generosity from you all have been overwhelming,” friend Gill added.

A PSNI spokesperson said: “Officers from the Collision Investigation Unit are continuing to examining the circumstances of the collision.

“Anyone who may have witnessed what happened or who has CCTV, dash-cam or other footage which could assist with enquiries, is asked to contact police on 101 quoting reference number 1743 of 08/11/24.”
