The hubs will be major distribution centres, designed to save and circulate tonnes of surplus food and aim to transform the ability of charities like FareShare and the Felix Project to support communities most in need.

The monarch will open the initiative’s first two hubs, with the second being opened virtually after his public engagement in London.

During his visit, the King viewed a newly installed industrial freezer that will increase capacity by 400 percent, significantly improving the charity’s ability to preserve more surplus food.
