An 11-year-old boy is in serious condition after being hit by a car.

The pedestrian was hit at 5.12pm yesterday during the post-school rush hour.


Police were called to the scene of the crash, which occurred on Wrexham Road in Chester between a grey Nissan and a young boy.

The boy was attended to at the scene before being taken to Alder Hey Hospital to be treated.

His injuries have been classed as “life-threatening”.

The driver of the vehicle, a 28-year-old woman, was unharmed.

Police are investigating the incident, and requesting anyone with CCTV footage or relevant information to come forward.

No arrests have been made at time of writing.

Inspector Anton Sullivan, of the Constabulary’s Roads and Crime Unit, said: “I understand that this is a considerably distressing incident and our thoughts remain with the victim’s family.

“As part of our enquiries to establish the circumstances that led up to the collision, we are asking for anyone who may have witnessed the incident, or has any information about it, to please contact us.

“The same goes for anyone who may have captured the incident on dashcam or on CCTV.”
