Air fryer sausage rolls
Ingredients
- Roll of ready-made puff pastry
- Pack of eight sausages or vegetarian alternative
- One egg
Method
Firstly, unroll the ready-made puff pastry and let it rest for about 15 minutes while you prepare the other ingredients. Open the pack of sausages and carefully slice down the middle of each one to pierce the skin.
Extract the meat from the skin, and mould it in your hands to form an elongated sausage shape. Position two of these sausages horizontally at the top of the puff pastry sheet.
Beat an egg and use this to brush the pastry just below the sausages, then roll it over once and cut it off. Repeat this process until all the puff pastry is used up, then chop each roll into smaller bite-sized pieces and brush each one with the egg as well – this will help achieve that glossy finish.
Place them in your air fryer, using a wire rack to separate the layers if your device isn’t large enough. Bake at 180C for 18 minutes, or until the pastry is crisp and golden brown. Serve immediately.
