Ruth Langsford has opened up about her split with Eamonn Holmes on Loose Women, admitting it is difficult going through a divorce “in public”.
The ITV broadcaster was speaking on the daily show during a discussion with former Love Island contestant Tommy Fury to talk about his recent split from Molly-Mae Hague.
Northern Irishman Holmes and Langsford announced in May that they had broken up after 14 years of marriage, with a spokesperson revealing “they are in the process of divorcing”.
Speaking on the lunchtime programme yesterday, the 64-year-old woman was talking with Fury about his new book which details his break up with Molly-Mae.
During the discussion about their break up, she added: “It’s a tricky time as I know, going through all of these things in public, and everyone has got something to say, without knowing the truth.”
Holmes and Langsford were well known for presenting ITV’s This Morning together before they lost their slot in a show shake-up in late 2020.
Holmes and Langsford have one son Jack, born in 2002. Holmes also has three other children from his previous marriage.

It’s not the first time Ruth has used her appearances on Loose Women to speak candidly about her split.
Last month, she appeared to take a swipe at her former partner while revealing she was currently “throwing out a lot of stuff” from her £3.5m Surrey house she used to share with Holmes.
Saying she was “not a hoarder” and was a “clearer-outer”, Langsford added: “Come round, I’ve always got a skip outside.”
During the conversation, Langsford also remarked “I’m throwing out a lot of stuff out at the moment”, which was greeted with applause and laughter by the audience in the studio and Coleen Nolan, who gave Langsford a clap over the apparent dig.
Meanwhile, the Daily Express newspaper reported a source close to Langsford said she is reportedly planning a “divorce makeover” following the end of her marriage.
The source said: “Ruth is ready for a divorce makeover. While her marriage was great for many years, she says nothing ages you faster than the stress of a separation, let alone going through it under the spotlight.
“She’s aged gracefully, but the last year has left its mark. She’s now feeling vulnerable about her age – something this industry doesn’t help with either.
“She’s told pals that Eamonn has put 15 years on her face and joked she needs an MOT to undo it all.”
