Mike Tyson’s son, Amir Tyson, has revealed he’s never seen his father as ‘locked in’ for a fight as he is for this week’s bout with Jake Paul.
Amir was born in 1997 as his father’s was approaching the twilight years of his career.
Tyson officially retired from boxing after losing three of his last four fights, ending with a defeat to Kevin McBride in 2005.
The former undisputed heavyweight world champion toyed with making a return over the years and stepped back into the ring for his first exhibition in 2020 against Roy Jones Jr.
That fight ended in a split draw after eight rounds and Tyson will be back in the ring this Friday against YouTuber-turned-boxer Paul.

Unlike the fight against Jones Jr, Tyson will see his bout with Paul end up on his professional record.
Despite being 58 years old, Tyson has showcased his dedication to getting in shape for the fight with multiple short clips posted online of him putting in the work.
And Amir has admitted he’s never seen his father as focused as he currently is heading into a fight.
“I just see he’s ready,” Amir said.
“He’s ready to go, he’s ready to prove the doubters wrong and he’s going to do what he wants to do.”
He added: “What’s crazy about this fight, I remember his later fights and he was just going with the flow.
“He wasn’t really training for those fights but this is the first time I’ve seen him totally locked in on a professional fight.
“I’ve never seen that in-the-zone type of mentality before a fight. He wants it.”
Amir was speaking on a live broadcast for an open workout of the entire fight card ahead of Friday’s bash.

Tyson was first in the ring as he hit the pads with coach Rafael Cordeiro as Paul stepped into the ring later in the evening.
And Amir isn’t convinced that Paul will be able to hurt his dad, despite the 31-year age gap between the two fighters.
“What Jake will have is youth, but he’s not going to be the more powerful person in the ring that night,” he said.

“Jake punches hard, but there’s level to it.”
He added: “To be honest, Jake’s a great fighter for the YouTube world but he always fights guys who are smaller, not boxers.
