More evidence, as if we needed it, that you can’t trust anything Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and the Liberals say is illustrated by Trudeau’s reaction to U.S, President-elect Donald Trump’s sweeping victory on Nov. 5.

Since that night, Trudeau who, along with the Liberal caucus, trashed Trump at every turn during his first presidency from 2016 to 2020 and in the months leading up to last week’s victory, have been frantically rewriting history.

On Tuesday, in a head-spinning about face, Trudeau said Canada and the U.S. had worked together as “friends and partners” on the Canada, U.S., Mexico free trade deal and will do “good things together” during Trump’s second term.

This must come as a heck of a shock to Liberal MPs, the Liberal Party of Canada and Trudeau himself, given their previous attempts to attack Conservative leader Pierre Poilievre by comparing him disparagingly to Trump.

Now, according to Trudeau, it’s all sweetness and light, with Trudeau tweeting on X the day after Trump’s victory:

“Congratulations to Donald Trump on being elected President of the United States. The friendship between Canada and the U.S. is the envy of the world. I know President Trump and I will work together to create more opportunity, prosperity and security for both of our nations.”

Deputy PM and Finance Minister Chrystia Freeland joined in the Trump love-fest tweeting, “We’re looking forward to once again working together with President Trump to ensure shared prosperity and security on both sides of the border.”

Um, seriously Liberals?

What happened to, “Pierre Poilievre’s contempt for science & the media and his refusal to get briefed are typical of the far-right populist BS we see from Trump’s Republicans” tweeted by Liberal MP Adam van Koeverden on Oct. 25?

Or, “Two #weird peas in a pod. Do you think it is just a coincidence that Pierre Poilievre is using the ‘exact same language’ as Donald Trump?” tweeted by Mark Gerretsen on Aug. 8?

Or, Liberal MP Jennifer O’Connell describing questioning of the results of the 2019 and 2021 election results because of foreign interference as employing “the same Trump-like tactics to question election results moving forward” on Feb. 21, 2023?

The Liberals are an unserious government, in which what they say means nothing.
